14' Lahui Kai Orca (White)
Weight: 31lbs/281L Width: 27.25" Thick: 6" Nose: 9.5" Tail: 8.5" 12'6 and 14' Hollow Molded Construction (HMC): In 2010, Lahui Kai became the first elite stand up paddleboard manufacturer to release a traditional hollow molded board to the public. Lahui Kai Paddleboards is revolutionizing the sport once again with this highly refined and tested manufacturing technique, allowing them to provide the same boards paddled by today's elite sup racers at a reasonable price. (Prices vary depending on your choice of layup.) Why Hollow Molded Construction (HMC)? Easy, because traditional hollow molded construction boards provide an extremely high level of production accuracy, strength, durability, surface quality and torsional stiffness, and have the added benefit of easily adjustable weight. Although there is a larger investment in the tooling, this process also allows us to produce the same boards paddled by today’s elite standup paddlers for a reasonable price. How can you make a board more durable or lighter weight? Durability and weight are easily adjusted by simply changing the materials used when building the stand up paddleboard. This is called “Changing the Layup.” Fiberglass (very strong and durable), Carbon / Kevlar (extremely durable and light) and Carbon Vacuum (extremely light) boards are available. We can quickly and confidently balance weight and durability by using this traditional construction method paired with a proprietary, overlapping internal seam. The gel coat provides a quality durable high-gloss finish and color that will last. Is this Hollow Molded Technology proven? Yes, hollow molded construction has been used for decades to build the strongest and most durable Surf Skies and Kayaks in the world. 99% of the worlds OC1 and Ocean Kayaks are manufactured using this method and a variety of tried and true layups.
